It's been a little while, im just looking over my last post about the car and Harley! I havent even posted about sydney, so since i'm off for 4 days this weekend, i thought i'd use the time wisely and re-do my blog and update!
My blog has had a little makeover. It was pretty boring so i've given her a new background & banner as well as adding a whole heap of things on the right! I was sick of having just links to thing, so now i have pictures! Most of which you can click on to get to websites.. I'm really happy with how it turned out!
Ok... so SYDNEY!
Driving to meet Felicity, i was more than nervous. She was cool and excited, i was extremely worried. Mostly because i knew that if it went badly, my most important friendship would be gone. Something i wasnt ready to deal with. What the hell did i worry for? Everything went perfectly! Our main reason for going to Sydney was that i wanted to see NZ singer, Brooke Fraser live in concert, so from asking Fel to come with me it spiraled into a girls weekend! We stayed at the Grand Mercure Apartments, in a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom gorgeous living space! Honestly, it was just beautiful. I wanted to just stay and live there.
We were so good, and got up super early to go to the Farmers Markets. We thought we'd buy things to make at the apartment so we weren't always eating out, big let down. All that came out of that little trip was Fel's $5 cup of lemonade! We walked around at least 4 times, but it was all pretty much the same things over & over and nothing grabbed us, so we left and went onto reason number 2 for the trip. M.A.C. No not apple mac.. M.A.C Cosmetics! I've been using makeup for years but i never really knew a lot about what suits my face, skin tones etc so we took a little trip, which essentially was to replace my goopy mascara... which i did! And i also bought everything else Natalia, the lovely M.A.C girl, put on me. The smallest feather could've knocked me over when she hit the total, $526. But, i'm so happy with what i have! The best eye shadow "All That Glitters", Felicity and i both have it and love it! I feel pretty with this make up on. And that's worth more than $500 to me.
We did so much stuff i won't go into detail of every single thing, but we had dinner on the South Steyne, which is a boat on darling harbour. It was really lovely food, and not just teeny weeny meals either, they were huge! And delicious. We had a little treat with dessert, so worth it though.
We did a LOT of shopping, my legs were sore for the next week, we went to the Maritime Museum and down inside a submarine (very hard to get into) a huge navy ship and the Endevour. All of the people working those boats were really great and so informative. We also spent some time with the fishies at the Aquarium! I love going there, mostly to see the sharks, but everything is just beautiful in there. The cute little seals were just lazing around, Felicity was really brave at the touch pool! I was not. Though she did make another tourist looking person touch the sea slug first - just in case! What else, oh we discovered the Lindt Cafe! No we weren't too naughty in there, but our Dad's did pretty well since it was Fathers Day!
Honestly, it was the best time i've ever had in Sydney. Being with her, i was happy and i felt secure in that i had my best friend and she wasn't going anywhere! Shopping, watching a performer or just hanging out in our rooms at night, i was content and so glad i was brave enough to go! I heart Miss Felicity, she is my sister, in all sense of the term that matters.
BROOK FRASER CONCERT
I have loved her since i first discovered her years ago! I missed out on seeing her last time around, lack of money, so i was determined to see her this time. The Enmore Theatre was a cute little "vintage" place (good pick of words Fel), and though the seats were a little small and we had rather annoying people infront of us, the concert was amazing. I loved every single second of it. Brooke was actually better than i expected to be, she sounds just as perfect live as she is on the cd. The set was very basic but gorgeous lights. I had the hottest date in the room hehe I think Felicity really enjoyed it, even though she'd never really heard of her. And to top the night off, our taxi driver that took us to the venue was really cute! Brooke was really funny and full of personality which really helps. I managed to buy a signed CD, t-shirt and a gorgeous little leather jounal that she signed on the inside! There really aren't any words to describe how you feel seeing one of your favourite singers live, so instead i'll just leave this post here and put some pictures below from the whole trip!
I promise i'll update more often... I'm back in the swing of it now :)... ok piccies!
